  1. Major General

    The Major General (Maj Gen.) has exceeded all expectations and has been an indomitable force in the 1st Fighter Wing. Brigadier General's serve as ACC Vice Commanders (ACC/CV), and ACC Commander (ACC/CC).

    The member must have at least 288 promotion points, 2 years of active service as Brig Gen, 6 year 4 months total time in ACC, and selected by ACC/CC to be eligible for Maj Gen.

  2. Brigadier General

    The Brigadier General (Brig Gen.) has exceeded all expectations and has been an indomitable force in the 1st Fighter Wing. Brigadier General's serve as Wing Vice Commanders (1FW/CV), Wing Commanders (1FW/CC), ACC Vice Commanders (ACC/CV), and ACC Commander (ACC/CC).

    The member must have at least 216 promotion points, 1 year 6 months of active service as Col, 4 year 4 months total time in 1st Fighter Wing or 5th SFG, and selected by ACC/CC to be eligible for Brig Gen.

  3. Colonel

    The Colonel (Col.) has exceeded all expectations and has been an indomitable force in the 1st Fighter Wing. Colonel's serve as Group Vice Commanders (1FG/CV), Group Commanders(1FG/CC), Wing Vice Commanders (1FW/CV), Wing Commanders (1FW/CC), and ACC Vice Commanders (ACC/CV).

    The member must have at least 144 promotion points, 1 year of active service as Lt Col, 2 year 10 months total time in 1st Fighter Wing, and selected by ACC/CC to be eligible for Col.

  4. Lieutenant Colonel

    The Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col.) has proven himself as a competent senior officer, Squadron Commander and/or a Leader in a non-flying unit. The Lt Col. is well versed in unit policy and procedure and holds all Officers accountable. Holds all members to the high standard of the 1st Fighter Wing.

    The member must have at least 90 promotion points, 7 months 2 weeks of active service as Major, 1 year 10 months total time in 1st Fighter Wing, and approved by selection board or selected by 1FW/CC to be eligible for Lieutenant Colonel.

  5. Major

    The Major (Maj.) has proven himself as a competent officer, Squadron Commander and/or a Junior Leader in a non-flying unit. The Major is well versed in unit policy and procedure and holds all Officers accountable. Holds all members to the high standard of the 1st Fighter Wing.

    The member must have at least 72 promotion points, 6 months of active service as Captain, 1 year 2 months total time in 1st Fighter Wing, and selected by 1FW/CC to be eligible for Major.

  6. Captain

    The Captain (Capt.) has proven himself as a competent officer and/or Flight Lead or Squadron Lead and is now ready to become a Squadron Commander or Junior Leader in a non-flying unit. The Captain can instruct members on Unit Policy, as well as hold all members to the high standard of the 1st Fighter Wing.

    The member must have at least 54 promotion points, 6 months of active service as 1st Lt, and 8 months total time in 1st Fighter Wing to be eligible for Captain.

  7. First Lieutenant

    The First Lieutenant (1st Lt.) has proven himself as a competent Aircraft Commander and is now eligible to become a Flight Lead and  Squadron Lead. The 1st Lt. knows Standard Operating Procedure and is a mentor to new pilots.

    The member must have at least 36 promotion points, 3 months of active service as 2nd Lt, and 3 months 2 weeks total time in 1st Fighter Wing to be eligible for 1st Lt.

  8. Second Lieutenant

    The rank of Second Lieutenant (2nd Lt.) is awarded at the completion of pilot training in the 1st Fighter Wing or when an officer position is open for non-flying MOS's.

  9. Chief Master Sergeant

    Chief Master Sergeant is the highest Air Force enlisted rank, with the exception of the Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force.

    The member must have at least 72 promotion points, 6 months of active service as SMSgt, 1 year 7 months total time in 1st Fighter Wing, and approved by selection board or selected by 1FW/CC to be eligible for SMSgt.

  10. Senior Master Sergeant

    The Senior Master Sergeant is expected to perform as a superintendent or manager.

    The member must have at least 54 promotion points, 4 months 2 weeks of active service as MSgt, 1 year 1 month total time in 1st Fighter Wing, and approved by selection board or selected by 1FW/CC to be eligible for SMSgt.

  11. Master Sergeant

    The Master Sergeant (MSgt) functions primarily as a craftsman while holding more advanced leadership positions.

    The member must have at least 36 promotion points, 3 months of active service as TSgt, 8 months 2 weeks total time in 1st Fighter Wing, and approved by selection board or selected by 1FW/CC to be eligible for MSgt.

  12. Technical Sergeant

    The Technical Sergeant (TSgt) is the second level of the Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) ranks in the Air Force. Technical Sergeants are qualified to perform highly complex technical duties in addition to providing supervision. In addition, they're responsible for the career development of each subordinate under their supervision. It is the TSgt's responsibility to ensure that all enlisted personnel has the tools, training, and support they need to achieve maximum performance and accomplish total mission effectiveness.

    The member must have at least 24 promotion points, 2 months of active service as SSgt, 5 months 2 weeks total time in 1st Fighter Wing, and approved by selection board or selected by SQ/CC to be eligible for TSgt.

  13. Staff Sergeant

    The Staff Sergeant (SSgt) is the first level of the Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) ranks in the Air Force. The Staff Sergeant's considered a craftsman with specific NCO supervisory responsibilities and must continuously strive to further their development as technicians and supervisors.

    The member must have at least 18 promotion points, 1 month 2 weeks of active service as SrA, 3 months 2 weeks total time in 1st Fighter Wing, and approved by selection board or selected by SQ/CC to be eligible for SSgt.

  14. Senior Airman

    The rank of Senior Airman (SrA) a transition period from journeyman to Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO). It is essential that a SrA develop a supervisory and leadership mindset.They are expected to conduct themselves in accordance with established standards, providing a positive influence and example for their subordinates and peers alike.

    The member must have at least 12 promotion points, 1 month of active service as A1C, and 2 months total time in 1st Fighter Wing to be eligible for SrA.

  15. Airman First Class

    Airman First Class' (A1C) are expected to comply with Air Force standards and  are expected to start mastering their job and leadership skills.1 month

Army Ranks

  1. Colonel

    The Colonel typically commands brigade-sized units with a command sergeant major as an NCO assistant.

    The member must have at least 144 promotion points, 1 year of active service as Lieutenant Colonel, 3 year 9 months total time within the 5th SFG, and selected by ACC/CC to be eligible for newrank.

  2. Lieutenant Colonel

    The Lieutenant Colonel typically commands battalion-sized units with a command sergeant major as an NCO assistant.

    The member must have at least 90 promotion points, 7 month 2 weeks of active service as Major, 2 year 9 months total time within the 5th SFG, and approved by a selection board or selected by ACC/CC to be eligible for Lieutenant Colonel.

  4. Captain

  17. Sergeant First Class

    To be promoted to Sergeant First Class, members of the 5th SFG must excel in Squad leadership, and show the ability to assist Command when needed.

    The member must have at least 36 promotion points, 12 weeks of active service as Staff Sergeant, 28 weeks total time within the 5th SFG, and approved by a selection board to be eligible for Sergeant First Class.

  18. Staff Sergeant

    To be promoted to Staff Sergeant, members of the 5th SFG must show initiative, knowledge within their MOS, and good leadership.
